# Phonics Lesson Plan

**Grade Level:** Kindergarten

**Duration:** 30-40 minutes

**Objective:**
Students will be able to identify and pronounce the short vowel sound /a/ and recognize words that contain this sound.

**Materials:**
- Whiteboard and markers
- Flashcards with pictures and words (cat, hat, rat, mat, bat, sat)

**Lesson Outline:**

1. **Introduction (5 minutes)**
- Begin with a brief review of the vowels (A, E, I, O, U).
