About Melissa
As an educator with 22 years of classroom experience in both elementary and special education, I bring a strong foundation of knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to every tutoring session. My experience teaching across multiple grade levels and subject areas—including elementary classrooms, upper elementary math, and middle school ELA, Math, and Social Studies—has equipped me with the skills to support a wide variety of learners and learning styles. Students and families can feel confident knowing I create a positive, structured, and encouraging environment where academic growth and self-confidence go hand in hand. With 22 years of teaching experience in both elementary and special education, I bring patience, flexibility, and a strong understanding of how students learn best. I have taught a wide range of grade levels and subjects, including a 2nd/3rd grade combination classroom, 3rd and 4th grade math, and middle school ELA, Mathematics, and Social Studies. This diverse background allows me to meet students where they are academically and build confidence in a supportive, encouraging environment. I understand that every child learns differently, and I work hard to create lessons and strategies tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel successful, capable, and motivated to learn.
