About Lisa
My background is in technical management. I worked many years with teams across continents and cultures towards successfully meeting goals. I have mentored and tutored peers, co-workers, and teams in several businesses during my career to help the program have successful communications and to help those individuals advance their studies and their careers. I am TEFL Level 5 certified to teach English. I enjoy working with teens and adults to pursue their goals.

I believe we are connecting globally more everyday. English is one of the languages that has become a global connector. Learning English will provide more opportunities for my students in business, in their academic pursuits and in their travels.
My approach to teaching English is as follows:
- I first ask each student their goal in learning English. It is because they're going to study in an English speaking country or is it because they simply want to communicate better with their English speaking grandchildren.
- Next I ask each student to take an assessment to establish a baseline of their existing English skills. Often students may be more proficient in writing and reading but weaker in speaking and listening. As a result, this baseline gives me a starting point and path for English lessons.
Finally, with their goals in path I can create lessons which support achieving milestones along the path to their goal.
Working collaboratively with my students I can keep in alignment with their goals and iteratively make adjustments in lessons as necessary.
