About Charlotte
Hi there! Im a 18 year old female girl who has been playing piano since i can remember! I begin when i was around 9 years old, where i was having one on one lessons with an amazing teacher who gave me the option to either learn by ear or by paper. I was told that if i learn by ear, this will enable me to be much freer when i play as i will be able to understand and hear the music within, and then transfer this to the keys! While learning using sheet music is an excellent skill without doubt!, learning to play by ear was a much more creative experience for me, which motivated me to begin to write my own music and get very comfortable playing the piano in public performances.

During these lessons, i will teach individuals how to be able to hear the notes in music to identify common chord progressions within todays music - this will enable individuals to pick up and play any mainstream song they hear within minutes (with practice of course!). I will also teach the basic fundamentals that an individual needs in order to improve their hearing, playing, tempo, variations, dynamics and technique - this includes practicing different scales, fingering, basic chord fundamentals; minor and major chords used in todays music and learning about how to add flavour to a basic chord progession to make it sound interesting and more complicated than it actually is. My lessons will be based around enhancing creativity and improving ability to feel the music within the body and transfer this feeling to the piano. My lessons will be exciting and encourage students to use their ears to enhance their skills in relative pitch which enables them to play freely without relying on a piece of paper to guide them
