About Sophie
I am a college student in California and have always had a love of languages. This past year I took a gap year and moved to Barcelona to learn Spanish. I also worked at a private school there teaching English to students aged 10-17. With my students, I would explain grammar concepts such as conditionals and tenses; practice vocabulary through engaging games; and even prepare students for the Cambridge First English proficiency exam. I am now back in California spending time with my family and my pet gecko. In my free time, I like to read, go to the beach, and play the flute.

- I teach all levels of English (A1 - C2) and all ages - I am student-focused and will personalize lessons around your needs - My method includes solidifying vocabulary and grammar before practicing speaking and pronunciation through conversations - For Spanish-speaking students with A1 or A2 levels of English, I can explain key concepts in Spanish for deeper understanding - I will find fun and interesting reading exercises to promote comprehension and pronunciation - Homework can include voice messages from students that I will correct in order to enhance their confidence in speaking and their recollection of key vocabulary through active recall - lessons are $15 for half an hour and $25 for an hour
