About Emily
I am from western Canada (grew up in Alberta and British Columbia), but I recently moved to Montreal to study. I have a bachelor of social work, and shortly after I began working as a social worker in Calgary, I was ready to further my education. I go to McGill University, where I am working on my Masters of Social Work, Bachelor of Civil Law, and Juris Doctor (JD).
When I am not studying, I love to travel! I especially love solo backpacking. When I am unable to travel, I love exploring cultural festivals, events, and new restaurants in my city, and getting lost in nearby towns. I also like to try new crafts and art projects like acrylic painting and embroidery.

I understand that everyone learns differently, so I value being adaptable to your learning style.
A typical session with me will begin with getting to know the material you are working on by discussing it together. In my experience, it is much easier to understand a concept when you first understand the purpose and WHY you need to know it. Then we will discuss the steps to achieve the goal, and walk through the steps together.
I am happy to try different approaches to explaining concepts, and different activities for different styles of learning, within each session. If there's anything you still are not understanding, just let me know!
I know it can be difficult for some students to ask questions, so if that is a challenge for you, we can work on confidence too! Everything we know now, we had to learn at one time, and asking questions is such a strong tool we can use for learning.

Emily works so hard to accomplish what she sets her mind on. She is a person that I go to when I have questions, personal or academically. She has travelled the world to gain more insight into different cultures and history. Emily is very supportive, kind and has a heart of gold. She is very good at explanations and making things make sense!
Highly recommendedOne of the main reasons why I am very grateful to Emily is because she not only teaches you in a wonderful way, but she also looks for that wonderful way for each student in order to make you understand whatever it is that she is teaching. I owe a large part of my good level of English to you, so thanks again.
I would highly recommend Emily to anyone wanting in-depth explanations and conversations that meet your needs, as well as going above and beyond to make sure you exceed at whatever your goals may be. She is patient, receptive, and goes out of her way to extend resources to help guide you in the right direction. Her knowledge in studies (specifically social work and law), and life experiences are far and wide and will not disappoint! As a dear friend, she is always one of the first people I reach out to for advice and never fails to provide thorough information to help guide me, be it business or personal.
Emily is an excellent tutor. She is extremely patient and understanding and has a great way of finding alternative ways to explain concepts if I ever find something confusing. She’s very knowledgeable and helpful.
