As a teacher, I believe it is crucial to cater lessons to a student’s individual learning style, and once this is established, to proceed at their pace.
As a proficient second-language Spanish speaker, I understand the language learning process and utilise this insight in my teaching. I also have an academic interest in educational psychology, and am constantly educating myself on the best ways to teach and learn a language.
I like to use a broad variety of lesson plans, materials, games, exercises, and assessment styles to keep students engaged, on their toes, and interested in their learning. Mixing it up like this has been shown to help students commit new content to their memory. Most importantly, lessons should be flexible, responding to the level, needs, and learning style of the student as they go.
My lessons are for English learners of any level looking to gain long-term confidence and ability in speaking and writing.
