About Charley
Originally, I hail from the Scottish Borders and was brought up surrounded by music and culture. From marches, to songs to bagpipes! Music was everywhere.
One day, after primary school, I took a letter home to my parents which I had been given by the town brass band who had given us a workshop during assembly. Coming from a non-musical family, my mum was confused as to why I'd want to do such a thing...
Anyway after I had made her retrieve the letter out of the kitchen bin, off I went to try out some brass instruments.
With some piano lessons under my belt and now a piece of brass in the boot of the car, this pretty much set me off on a journey that would soon become my. whole. life.
I love music, it has given me experiences that I would never have had and an appreciation for life so much deeper than a non-musician (in my opinion). Now, I want to inspire other young people to keep music in the UK alive, just like I was inspired from that assembly back in 2011.

Have you chosen GCSE Music? Let me help you out!
I believe in teaching engaging lessons which suit your needs and I always look for the most enjoyable way of teaching this subject.
Lessons can vary in length to suit your lifestyle but I would recommend an hour so that we can really dive into a topic!
I received Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2024 so I am very in touch with recent developments in music education. I am determined to help you thrive as a musician by highlighting the importance of musical awareness and appreciation.
I am offering tutorials to young people who are looking for an extra hand ahead of GCSE season. Music requires you to know a lot more than is given credit for so if it's Italian terms, key signatures or MAD TSHIRTS/DR SMITH, I've got you!
