About Gustavo
I've been teaching since 2001, when I was selected to be a teacher's assistant in my first music training program. More recently, I've been a teaching artist with LA Opera and a voice teacher with the National Children's Chorus for over four years! I've worked with students of all ages, most recently the majority of my students have ranged from ages 9-13 years old, although I have also worked with adults with LAO. I've taught in the San Francisco Bay Area in after school music programs and in southern California.

I guess my first teacher rubbed off on me in that when I would pick up on something he'd teach me, he'd roar with laughter and would get so excited for me! That is how I am: I love to see my students figure out concepts and put them into practice, I get very enthusiastic! Every small victory must be acknowledged because the road is long and difficult, and each small victory leads to a new accomplishment. Conversely, I am also no non-sense. I state to my students what is expected from them, which is really the bare minimum from a voice student, and expect students to come to their lessons prepared.
