About Payton
Hi! My name is Payton Walters. I am a 19-year-old college junior at Texas Tech University. I am located in Abilene, Texas. I am majoring in English literature with a minor in writing, design, and technical communications. I graduated from Merkel High School in 2023 as the salutatorian with a 4.0 GPA. I took Pre-AP and Advanced Placement English throughout high school. English and writing are my passions, and I have helped many classmates edit their essays in high school and college, helping them earn well-achieving grades.

I am a patient person, and know how difficult some subjects are for people. I am here to help anyone who needs assistance in English subjects with reading, spelling, grammar, essay writing, literary devices, literature, etc.
I will focus on the areas in which my students need extra work. I will help students pick apart literature to find the rhetorical devices used and their meaning. For spelling, I make flashcards. For grammar practice, I will have students read a paragraph, page, or essay with mistakes/ missing punctuation and have them point out what needs to be fixed. I have AP and MLA format textbooks and guides to help students learn grammar rules and practice efficiently. I can read over papers and essays and help students edit them into their best work.
My tutoring lessons are perfect for elementary, middle school, high school, advanced placement, and lower-level bachelor's degree program classes!
