About Simon

As previously mentioned, I got a H1 in what was referred to as a very difficult paper 1 & 2 in 2026 and I am now pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering at UL.
Considering how drastically different that paper felt from previous papers, it reinforces my belief that you should have a strong understanding of how to answer questions.
The reason people struggled with the paper is because they were taught to follow steps to answer questions rather than understand how to answer them, I will help you avoid this struggle.
I understand that maths can be a weak point for many and since it is weighted with an extra 25 points it can make the difference of getting your preferred course or not. Let's make sure you get the course you deserve.

About the lesson

I believe in learning by doing, there's no point watching someone solve a hard question and think "yeah, I could probably do that".
I will help you build a strong foundation in maths skills and problem solving by introducing the concept in a simple manner. Then, ensure you can solve the simple concepts before gradually introducing difficult applications.
1 hour sessions are the usual, though can be flexible.
Known for teaching the class when the teacher was busy.
Looking for leaving certs, both fifth and sixth years.
Will help sixth years work on their weak points to prepare for their upcoming exam.
Will help fifth years have confidence in their maths abilities throughout the leaving cert.
I am open to any questions throughout and will gladly explain in detail if you have any specific problems you'd like explained.
My examples will be shown on a whiteboard on my webcam for clear solutions.
