About Ivy

With over eight years of teaching experience and a BSc in Physics with Philosophy, I bring energy and creativity to every lesson. I focus on middle school students who are just beginning to explore forces and motion. My approach uses simple experiments like toy car races or balloon rockets to introduce key principles. These fun activities show that physics is not only in textbooks but also in everyday play. I love connecting ideas to sports, rollercoasters, and other real-life situations that students already enjoy. This makes learning both engaging and practical. I understand that physics can be confusing at first, so I take time to explain concepts clearly and encourage questions. I foster curiosity by turning lessons into explorations rather than lectures. Problem-solving scenarios are a regular part of my teaching, giving students a chance to apply what they’ve learned. Over the years, I’ve helped students move past frustration and discover excitement in science. I believe middle school is the perfect stage to spark a lifelong interest in physics. Together, we will explore forces, motion, and the wonders of the physical world. Physics can be fun, relatable, and easy to understand for everyone.

My methodology is centered on making physics practical and approachable. I bring in engineering problems to show how theory applies to real life. Materials science examples help students see how properties like elasticity, toughness, and thermal resistance affect design. I also emphasize fluid dynamics, whether it’s the flow of air over a wing or water through a pipe. With statics and dynamics, I link classroom ideas to real structures like bridges, cranes, and vehicles. These contexts give learners confidence that physics is not just equations, but tools for solving challenges. I keep lessons relaxed, encouraging curiosity and open discussion. Students can try multiple methods and learn that there’s more than one way to solve a problem. For aspiring teachers and computational physicists, I provide deeper insights into how to model systems effectively. Every session is about applying physics, not just memorizing it. By working through real examples, students grow in both skill and confidence. Physics becomes a subject with purpose and connection. Let’s make physics relevant to your engineering career.
