Hi there! I am a qualified and experienced teacher of English, offering English lessons up to Grade 12. The lessons are conducted online! No need for travel, learn in the comfort of your own home.

About Katherine
My teaching specialisations are English, drama and life orientation. I have a law degree, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and I am registered with SACE. I have worked as a journalist, taught in schools, and I have been offering private tuition from my home for three years.

My teaching methods are related to inclusive education, critical consciousness, constructivist and interactive learning.
I believe that each student is unique. Upon meeting my student for the first time, I assess the needs of the student. I then determine what his/her goals are and, draw up a plan and agree on a reasonable time-frame in which to achieve them.
I prepare for each lesson, so that I can help my students as effectively as possible based on their specific needs and goals.
When teaching, I take into account the student's background, context and learning level.
In addition I teach time management, exam preparation, how to properly read and interpret an exam question, and write out an answer.
I make use of many resources including, the internet, images, videos, props, games, newspapers, my notes, past year papers and textbooks.
I enjoy motivating and encouraging my students to achieve success that they would never have dreamed possible!
