About Mate
Friendly and encouraging, I try my best to not make anyone feel stupid. Learning isn't easy, and what works for one person won't always work for another. I will push people to do the best they can, but that won't mean I'm impatient or unsympathetic. Sometimes you just don't feel like learning, and that's okay too. A genuine desire to learn is what I aim to inspire, not obtaining fancy-looking grades (though we can get those too).
As one of the top students throughout GCSEs and A-Levels, I know my stuff well. I achieved a 9 in GCSE Maths and opted to take GCSE Further Maths, getting an A*, then went on to achieve an A for A-Level Maths. All of that with an unreliably bad memory. Exam technique could be called my speciality.

Teaching will focus mainly on finding the best way to help yourself. Lessons will not be rigid as everyone learns differently, so the goal is to find what works best. Though understanding subjects and topics won't be unimportant, the real learning will be about figuring out how to tackle a question you don't have an answer for. You can pass an exam without getting the full answer for a single question, the key is to know how.
Throughout GCSEs and A-Levels I was in the top classes, and often was the go-to person to "translate" the workings of those who were better than me to those who weren't able to follow along. My own unconventional thought processes meant I could come up with multiple ways of explaining a topic and come up with the best way to explain to an individual so that THEY understand, not the easiest way to explain the topic. Whatever the reason is you might struggle with a question, finding out how YOU can work it out will be far better than memorising how others do it.
