About Sophia
I’m a third-year Biological Sciences student at University of Auckland with a big interest in genetics and zoology. I completed NCEA Biology and Chemistry and achieved Excellence endorsements in Levels 1, 2, and 3, including Excellence in Biology. I’ve always enjoyed science and love helping other students understand topics that can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming. I am available to tutor all levels of High School Biology, chemistry and general science.

I know from experience that everyone learns differently, so I try to adapt the way I teach to suit each student. Some people learn best through diagrams and visuals, others through practice questions or talking concepts through step by step. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and to build confidence in their own abilities, rather than just memorizing content for a test.
My aim is to make learning feel less stressful and more approachable while helping students improve their understanding and results. I’m patient, supportive, and genuinely enjoy seeing students grow in confidence as concepts start to click for them.
