About Jorge
I am a third year student at Uconn studying Chemistry and Mathematics. I haven been doing peer tutoring for two years and my favorite subjects to teach are General Chemistry and Calculus. For fun I love to play and follow soccer, go to the beach, and travel! I also speak Spanish, French, and a little Catalan.

As a tutor the main goal is to help the student absorb knowledge in what they want to know and make sure they can do it on their own. A common method to achieve this is to work on various practice problems and look at what the student does well and what they could improve on. We then work on what the student needs to improve on and work through the problems together using different techniques until we find the right one. We repeat this once the student demonstrates they can do these problems on their own. Peer tutoring is my speciality, since one on one tutoring allows me to only focus on the one student who wants to gain knowledge and demonstrate it in an academic setting. These lessons are for students in high school or college taking classes in math, chemistry, or physics.
