About Marcus
Hi, my name is Marcus. I’m a third-year undergraduate student at UW-Madison, double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Physics with a 3.87 GPA. I’m deeply passionate about math, physics, and science, and I enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. I’ve excelled in advanced coursework, earning A’s in subjects such as multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and statistics, as well as advanced physics topics like mechanics, kinematics, electrodynamics, and quantum mechanics. Beyond academics, I bring practical experience through an internship focused on nuclear reactor systems, along with numerous personal projects and engineering coursework, giving me a strong understanding of how these concepts apply in real-world settings.

To teach mathematical and physics concepts to the average person, I focus on simplifying complex ideas and making them relatable. I start by identifying what the person already knows and build from there, using analogies, visuals, and real-world examples to create connections. For example, I might explain gravity by comparing it to the pull of a stretched rubber band or describe equations as recipes that show how ingredients interact. I emphasize hands-on activities, like solving simple problems or using everyday objects, to make abstract concepts tangible. Throughout, I encourage questions, celebrate small victories, and adjust my approach based on their understanding and interests. My goal is to make learning engaging, accessible, and empowering.
