About Daisy
I am entering my third year of study at Royal Holloway University of London for a degree in English and Drama. Throughout my education I have been inspired by teachers who realised the importance of structuring lessons to the needs of each individual. During my GCSE’S and A Level’s, I applied myself to analysing successful teaching methods and made mental notes of effective techniques. Students should not only be taught, but supported, encouraged and inspired.
Since then, I have pursued teaching through work experience. Whilst studying for my A Levels, I volunteered to work as a Teaching Assistant for a primary school. Now, at University, I work as a Teaching Assistant for a dance school. Work experience has taught me the importance of building relationships with my students. I sincerely hope my encouragement and support will bring out the very best in everyone I teach.

A degree in English and Drama has equipped me with skills in analytical thinking, perception and imagination and these are skills I consider critical to the role of tutoring. I adapt my teaching to suit the individual student, targeting areas they personally struggle with. I don't see anything as a 'problem' but rather a 'challenge' the student has yet to overcome.
I am looking to teach students who are studying at GCSE or A Level. Lessons might include:
- How to construct and format essays
- How to develop imaginative and creative interpretations of reading materials such as novels and poetry
- Help and encouragement in analytical thinking
- Help in basic language skills
