About Nabil
I am a third year medical student. Currently I am in a gap year working as a tutor and a school learning support worker. Over the last 5 years, I have tutored children in group settings, assisted learning in classrooms, and worked one to one as a mentor. I have tutored students in KS1, KS3 and KS4, I have been a school mentor in KS5 in Sixth form and I have helped my sister with learning from KS1 to KS3, which she is currently working at. I have worked in specialist resource bases, and specialist schools, as well as doing one to one work with students with additional learning needs (ALN). I can modify my approach to facilitate the student's needs, which might be related to stress from social environments in classrooms, an inability to focus on particular problems for meaningful periods of time, being distracted very easily, and displaying problematic behaviour. I have also worked and have personal experiences of supporting children with global developmental delay. I enjoy spending time with family, learning about topics such as philosophy and law, and keeping up to date with medical spheres of knowledge and research. I have achieved A*s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, English language, English literature, French, Religious studies, Statistics at GCSE level and A`s at A-Level in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

I am committed to my student's progress and growth. I would build a mutual trusting relationship with students and parents that allows for the student to flourish by organising a roadmap that would outline stages of development needed to reach their goals. Having an agreed plan allows for progress that is measured and monitored in accordance with the student's best interests. Through careful observation, clear communication and rigorous planning, I can build their confidence to tackle problems by developing strategies that will drive their growth and success. By using official resources that align with the specification and syllabus for the particular subject area or field in question, I ensure the examinable criteria is covered and the best outcome is achieved in exams and assignments. After lessons I will break down the key concepts and learning points and provide feedback to parents at regular intervals. Through observation and assessment, there can be a structured approach to covering content through clear schedules and continuous guidance. This would allow progress to be affirmed with tangible improvements and weaker areas to be highlighted and reinforced. I will actively support the student with compassion and empathy so they can be confident in their success.
