About Nicholas
I study sociology and politics at the University of Edinburgh, and I'm specifically interested in gender studies (feminism and queer theory) and new media – I'm writing my dissertation on the role of modern communication methods in redefining power relationships between journalists and readers.
Some of the favourite courses that I have taken at university frame the discussion of theory in contemporary issues. This is a learning style that I believe works very well for contextualising theory and making problems tangible and unpackable with a shared frame of reference.

There are some subjects at school that just need to be talked about – especially the humanities. With one-on-one, hour-long classes, I aim to offer students a collaborative and dynamic environment with which to explore the contemporary issues of our time within the framework of their syllabi.
