About Vanessa

I am originally from Las Vegas, Nevada and moved here to pursue my education at UNR. I'm currently a third year student studying journalism with a minor in cinema and media studies. I have studied French for almost my entire academic career and it is one of my favorite things to study. Being able to speak another language is awesome! I am currently learning Spanish as well. My goal is to help students realize that learning another language isn't impossible, and in fact can be a fun learning process.

About the lesson

I believe that it is important to actively engage in the language you are trying to learn. It can be very intimidating, but speaking with someone and working through the new words and grammar tenses is very helpful. Each session I will review the current material the student is working on, figure out where the student is struggling, and speak/work through the specific area the student is struggling in. I also instruct in both English and French so the student gets more comfortable hearing the language and can associate different words together. My lessons are for middle school and high school level (French I, French II, etc.)
