About Mayna
I am passionate in learning from and with others, growing and sharing the wealth of knowledge and experiences I have accumulated throughout my life. Learning is a lifelong process for me, a mindset that determines exactly how I approach every aspect of my life, have always excelled in school, and love planning lessons to help other people. I understand that not everybody enjoys school, however I believe that everyone has the potential to learn, no matter what age, gender, culture, or background, when given the appropriate resources, motives, and open-minded, effective teachers. My goal is to improve the equity of the education system, to run a half marathon, and be able to speak fluent te reo Māori.

I have a culturally responsive approach, selecting and creating engaging resources to make learning as enjoyable as possible. I draw real-world connections to my students' own lives and facilitate a safe space for students to make mistakes and learn from them. I am very adaptable so I will shape the lessons according to what my students most need or want to work on.
