About Ben
Hey there! I'm Ben :) I know I've achieved some very good grades, but I'm not like those people who could do it with their eyes closed - I had to work really hard!! But it was my love of learning that enabled me to put in that work and get the grades, and that is what I hope to help ignite in my tutees!
I am patient, kind and love helping others find that 'eureka' moment, when everything clicks! But most importantly, I can empathise with people that struggle!!
For a very long time I was stuck at the bottom of my class, but I put in the hours to fully understand the concepts, and that experience and knowledge is what I hope to pass on to my students!

- A*A*A*A* in A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Design & Technology
- Ten 9s in GCSEs, including subjects listed above
- 100% in both A-Level and GCSE Design Technology coursework
- My team of three won 1st place in the national Samsung Solve for Tomorrow (UK) competition
- Achieved a Gold award in the British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) senior challenge
- I was a Design Technology scholar at school
- I'm an Engineering scholar at The University of Sheffield

The first (~30mins) session is free! It gives the student and me a chance to get to know each other and work out how I can help them best.
- This includes identifying what they are confident in, and what they might need more help in
- It also gives me a chance to understand their learning style, so I can tailor lessons to them
- We'll also need to make sure the technology all works and we can both see each other's work!
The lessons (1hr) will be online via Zoom, which has a whiteboard feature so we can both work on the same 'page'. If the student doesn't have access to a smart writing device (tablet/laptop), it's not a problem at all! I can still share my screen to help them see what we are learning about!
I'm very happy to arrange extra lessons in the week if the student would like extra support!
