About Rucha
Rucha is a dancer, creator, explorer, and educator from Pune. She has been trained in Kathak for over a decade under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Prerana Deshpande, a world-renowned Kathak artist and one of the senior most disciples of Guru Pt. Rohini Bhate.
A touring artist, Rucha has performed solo and ensemble works at dance festivals all over India. She also presented her works as a part of Nrityadham’s ICCR troupe across the African continent and surrounding islands. Rucha received the Uttyunga artists scholarship post her work in Urmi, wherein she explored elements of poetry and nature to accentuate the nuances of Kathak.
Owing to an inherent curiosity for diverse philosophies in dance, Rucha pursued a Master's degree in the field of Performing Arts. She has also explored a variety of folk, Latin and urban dance forms. Her academic experience as a brand strategist & digital marketing specialist includes building thought-out, consumer-focused brand campaigns, and effective communication plans for her clients.
In 2015, Rucha began teaching at the Nrityadham Institute of Performing Arts in Pune and now teaches kathak to young and adult students across India via online/studio sessions.

These programs involve a researched structure that enables the priming of a Kathak dancer with attention to physical, creative, rhythmic, theoretical, and artistic detailing along with an introduction to Choreography.
The programs will help you learn & progress in Kathak. You will see visible changes in your dance over time. Improvements in stamina, physical alignment, strength, and understanding of theory in Kathak & Choreography will grow if you are disciplined to follow the programs. Also, learn about the history & heritage of Indian Dance.
