About Sofia
I am a dedicated math tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Master’s degree in Actuarial Science. My focus is on teaching students how to think critically and solve problems creatively. I lead problem-solving workshops that emphasize logical reasoning and structured approaches. I also prepare students for mathematics competitions, building confidence and skill in high-pressure contexts. My lessons often center on number theory and problem analysis, which challenge students to think deeply. My teaching style is highly structured, where each concept builds directly on the one before. I place strong emphasis on algebra because it provides the foundation for calculus, geometry, and statistics. In calculus, I guide students carefully through the logic of differentiation and integration. For geometry, I highlight proof-based reasoning, showing how clarity of thought leads to confidence. Probability and statistics are presented through meaningful applications, making them both practical and engaging. I believe that problem-solving should be approached systematically, so learners always know the “why” as well as the “how.” Each lesson is designed with a progression path so that skills grow in sequence.
