About Alice
Hi! I'm a tutor based in Sydney who has just graduated from University. I have been tutoring for 5+ years, and have been teaching English and humanities subjects to students of all different ages and abilities. My approach to tutoring focuses on the building both of understanding and confidence, and I place a big emphasis on adapting to each student's learning styles. Regimented curriculum can be difficult to understand so it's my job to help you build confidence and practice in those topics that can be a bit tricky or daunting! I'm reliable, patient and genuinely enjoy getting to know students and helping them improve and feel confident about their academic abilities.

I focus on creating a personalized, one-on-one learning environment that adapts lessons to a student's strengths. I break up complex lessons into clear, manageable steps and use guided practice to help students build confidence. I place a big emphasis on active learning, where students are continuously explaining ideas and questions back to me, as well as applying the concepts to practice activities.
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, which allows time for reviewing previous work, learning new material, and practicing new questions. 90-120 minute sessions are also available for senior students who want deeper work on essays, assessments or exam preparation.
I have 5 years of experience as a private tutor, teaching English primarily as well as primary learning, and all essay-based subjects. I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in politics and English.
My lessons are for students of all ages, particularly for students studying English, essay writing, humanities or history.
