About Nixie
I studied at King's Maths School, the UK's leading sixth form for mathematics, where I achieved A*A*A* in my A-Levels: Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Having recently completed my own exams, I understand first-hand the skills and strategies that make a real difference in achieving strong results.
It was beyond formal lessons that I first became deeply engaged with maths. Online resources opened the door to exploring a wide range of topics beyond the curriculum, and sparked a sense of discovery. That early curiosity soon grew into a strong passion, and it’s this enthusiasm for maths I bring to my teaching.
My journey has shaped how I approach tutoring: I believe the best progress comes when you care about what you’re learning. My priority is to help students not only understand the material but also develop a genuine appreciation for the concepts, because enjoyment and progress go hand in hand.
Although I am relatively new to formal tutoring, I have often supported peers and friends with maths, helping them understand concepts, tackle problems, and build confidence. These experiences have developed my communication, patience, and ability to adapt explanations to each learner. I am committed to providing structured, effective, and supportive sessions.
Additionally, as a trans tutor, creating a supportive and welcoming environment is important to me. I aim to create an inclusive space where all students can feel comfortable, valued, and confident in their studies.

I provide tutoring for GCSE, AS-Level, and A-Level students, with sessions available both online and in-person. In-person sessions depend on location, so please feel free to contact me to check availability.
For online lessons, students may find it helpful to use an iPad with pen, or another tablet such as a Wacom or XP-Pen, as this allows me to follow their working more closely — though this is by no means required.
I support students across all exam boards. If I am not already familiar with a particular specification, I will review the course structure in advance to ensure lessons are tailored to the requirements.
The first session is a free taster, during which a topic of your choice can be explored. This offers the chance to experience my teaching approach and see whether it is a good fit for your learning style. To get started, I invite you to book a free taster session.

I went to the same college as Nixie and for two years witnessed her dedication to explaining maths, her passion, to others. She takes a great approach to teaching: identifying what somebody already knows/is confident in and identifying weaknesses of the student and helping them build upon said weaknesses.
I would recommend Nixie to Superprof members because she shows care for everyone she talks to, so I would expect any student to build a great rapport with her in a quick manner. From there, her clear and concise explanations of maths help people learn and solidify knowledge quickly, as I have witnessed firsthand.
