About Nishant
I have been teaching history, religion, politics, and philosophy for almost five years and I was tutoring A Levels and undergraduate level students in Thailand, India, and the US. In both places, I have taught nearly 9 students of philosophy and 45 students of history, politics, language, and sociology.

In philosophy, I focus on phenomenology, post-modernist and structuralist thought and Eastern philosophy (focusing on Indian philosophical schools). From developing theoretical frameworks for research in political science, International Relations, sociology et cetera to core philosophy students, I find the usage of philosophy quite central. Moreover, I take a Socratic approach in philosophy with students where my focus lets students directly engage with the question of inquiry from multiple perspectives. Of history, I hold an expertise in colonial history with a focus on the British colonial interactions in Asia. However, I have taught different courses on the Buddhist and Brahmanical history and the history of India since antiquities (including modern debates on Indus Valley Civilisation). Moreover, with my international relations background and a research focus on South-East Asia, I have also conducted research on the history of Buddhism and Hinduism in South-East Asia (and the empires, such as Champa, Khmer) from the perspective of constructing civilisation discourses.

I am Nishant's housemate. As I have known Nishant for these days, I think that Nishant is a really nice, kind and patient person. He gets on well with all the housemates here. He always gave us warm welcomes when we met him.
Nishant has taught me about cooking several times. It helps me a lot, because I did not have any cooking experience before. Luckily, Nishant is a really kind and patient person, he taught me many things patiently, helping me improve a lot in cooking.
Though I have not learned Hindi from Nishant, I believe that he could be a good Hindi teacher. As he is a native Indian, there is no doubt that he is really good at Hindi. The most important thing is, does Nishant has the personality a good teacher should have?
