About Zara
Did you know Shakespeare didn't write all of his work?! Did you also know mitochondria were once separate organisms?!
Hello! My named is Zara, currently a college student taking an extra year, I'm super into literature and language and reading in general. In the future I want to be a professor in classical English literature to really explore what the field of literature has to offer. If you do choose me as a tutor then I will make sure that you have fun learning and find out new things about English your teachers don't tell you. I completely adore English, annotating and discussing is marvellous, and I want my students to also adopt a similar attitude. You may think you're terrible at literature and language but I believe that you just haven't found the book or theme for you! I want you to succeed, we'll get you to where you want to be and have fun along the way. I hope that my teaching can not only help you but offer new information or alternative ideas to the classroom and essays. There is so much more to literature than meets the eye!
If you need help in science I can also assist, science is a fascinating subject with so much to it that it can be hard to know where to start. Don't worry though! I was there once, for hours I would cover the same equations and diagrams and still feel like I was getting no where but don't worry. Study smart, quality over quantity my friend!

My approach to teaching is formulaic, each lesson will start with a recap of the previous lesson with an emphasis on elements that the pupil may not remember or be able to recall as quickly as needed. Lessons will also be centered around the pupils needs, recap quizzes are low stakes, any information that is wrong will be effectively covered during lesson time, but, apart from that, the student can tell me what they feel is wrong with their work and we'll improve it. Personally I think repetition and practice is the best way to really understand a topic. with a good teacher and a will to learn anything is possible!
Each lesson will be 1 hour long, they can be weekly or monthly, it is really down to the students confidence in their progress. My lessons will be for GCSE students in English literature and English language, if there are any struggles in the sciences I can also assist but my main focus is English. I did previously study AS-Level biology, at GCSE I got a
7, so science is no problem to teach. As for English I got a B in AS English literature and for English language I got a 7. Although I haven't had any formal experience as a tutor I really aspire to help people like myself who struggle in the education system. I enjoy teaching and helping people achieve their goals or to simply find something new to study!
