About Darya

I am a qualified primary school teacher having completed my PGCE at Cambridge University this year (2026).
Prior to this I completed a degree in Psychology at Durham University.
I have a wealth of experience working with primary and secondary pupils in voluntary and paid positions, both inside the school environment and in less formal settings. Additionally I have experience supporting SEN children. I am passionate about young people and the way they see the world. I never want pupils' struggles with a certain subject or aspect of the curriculum to hold them back from having the choice to pursue what makes them happy in the future. Tutoring is incredibly fulfilling because it allows you to build individual relationships, which enable you to celebrate visible growth in both confidence and ability.

About the lesson

Confidence is vital for children to progress in all areas of the primary curriculum. Consistent practice, with unique tailored content and time to ask questions due to a less pressurised pace can encourage enormous progress. Every child is different with individual barriers to learning, but with patience and understanding there are always methods to see real improvement across all primary subjects.
Additionally I have experience tutoring English literature and language GCSE. I have had a love for literature throughout my life and I miss the book talk and creativity of English lessons. My aim is to make English at a KS3 level (or above) accessible and engaging to all students.

I teach in a collaborative way with pupils setting their own goals and suggesting their preferred learning techniques. My lessons are structured but pupil focused with an emphasis on providing students with what they need most. I constantly revisit material and never assume concepts are already understood before moving on. I want my students to find their progress exciting and I want us to celebrate their achievements together.
