Hi, my name is Dylan Hennessy, originally I am from the Bronx, NY and I grew up in the state until I moved to Arizona to attend ASU as a CIS major, where I picked up developing software/working with databases and currently in total I have about 1.5 years of professional experience working as a Data developer. Both my parents are immigrants who came here before I was born, so currently I hold citizenship in the United States as well as Ireland in two counties. All of my colleagues currently are traditional engineers while I am actually a business major, which is one of the reasons why I feel I may so a much different outlook and approach to learning software. That combined with my unique upbringing/perspective and my commitment to compassion I truly feel I can teach anyone!

Whether it's for a specific class, a single assignment, or just someone looking to learn with any particular goal in mind, learning to write code in any form is extremely difficult and what most the industry fails to admit is that it is extremely anxiety inducing when a deadline of any sort is involved, hindering the creativity needed to get the task done.
My teaching strategy is focused on getting the tasks we need done by using core problem solving techniques that can be understood by and related to by anyone regardless of age, and allow for a real understanding of software, rather than copying code. It is rooted in patience, adaptability but most importantly compassion from a usually cold industry. I think every person's unique experiences allows them to approach a problem differently from anyone else would have, so learning how to build our own system to tackle our problems in our own way is how we can enjoy and be the most successful writing software.
