About Selma
I'm Selma, a Science student at the University of British Columbia, majoring in Combined Honors Computer Science and Physics, and a recipient of the UBC Outstanding International Student Award. I graduated with a near-perfect GPA of 19.78/20 from one of Iran's most selective STEM high schools, and won a Gold Medal at the National Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad — placing in the top 10 students nationwide.
Beyond academics, I'm an active researcher. Science isn't just something I study — it's something I genuinely live and breathe!
For almost two years, I mentored students for the National Olympiad through lectures, problem-solving workshops, and structured study materials — with results that speak for themselves: my students went on to win national medals.
I believe that every student is capable of understanding complex material when it's explained the right way. I'm patient, thorough, and passionate about making math and physics click — whether you're just trying to keep up or aiming for the top of your class.

I am a UBC Faculty of Science student and recipient of the Outstanding International Student Award, with a near-perfect high school GPA of 19.78/20 from one of the most selective STEM institutions. I hold a Gold Medal from the National Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad and have almost 2 years of hands-on experience as a Teacher and Teaching Assistant, where I mentored high school students through advanced physics, mathematics, and astrophysics — with results: my students went on to win national medals.
My lessons are structured, intuitive, and adapted to each student's level and goals. I begin by diagnosing where a student is struggling, rebuild the conceptual foundation, and then work through progressively challenging problems together.
I tutor middle school and high school students in Math, Algebra, Trigonometry, and Physics, as well as university students in introductory courses. For motivated students curious about Astronomy or preparing for science competitions and Olympiads, I offer specialized guidance drawing directly from my own competitive and research experience.
