About Preethi
I'm Preethi, a final-year medical student at the University of East Anglia, born and schooled in Norwich. I took Biology, Chemistry and Maths at Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form and got an A in each, after grade 9s in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science and Geography. I scored in the top 10% nationally on the UCAT and went through the medicine application process myself in 2021, so the advice is recent and specific.
After my A-levels I spent a full academic year as a student subject mentor at my old sixth form, running one-to-one and group sessions online and in person, and reporting progress back to teachers. That year taught me how to find the one missing idea behind "I'm just bad at this" and turn it into marks.
Alongside my degree I work front-of-house in a physiotherapy clinic and have spent more than eight years in patient-facing roles, so I'm used to explaining complicated things calmly to people of all ages. I hold an Enhanced DBS check through UEA Medical School, and parents are always welcome to sit in on sessions.

The UCAT is a test of strategy and timing as much as knowledge. I scored in the top 10% nationally and I now study medicine at UEA, so I know both what the test rewards and what medical schools do with the score afterwards.
One-to-one sessions take each section in turn and work out where your time and marks are going. Verbal Reasoning: skimming, keyword hunting and the discipline to flag and move on. Decision Making: a method for each question type, from syllogisms to Venn diagrams, so nothing feels new on the day. Quantitative Reasoning: fast arithmetic, estimation and knowing which questions to skip, which alone can move most students up a band. Situational Judgement: what Good Medical Practice actually expects and how examiners read the scenarios. We drill under timed conditions and review every mistake by type, not by question.
I also coach the rest of the application: choosing the four schools that fit your score, personal statement feedback across as many drafts as you need, and realistic MMI and panel mock interviews with honest feedback.
Lessons are one hour, one-to-one, online over Google Meet or in person in Norwich, weekday evenings and weekends. The first 30 minutes is free, so we can talk through your timeline before you pay for anything. Packs of five or ten hours are discounted.

Preethi, really helped me through my GCSE's, I was especially struggling with certain concepts in physics and chemistry but Preethi really slowed down and helped me work through the misconceptions till I fully understood it and it showed in my results. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tutor.
I've watched Preethi tutor for a couple of years now, both from the year she spent as a subject mentor at her old sixth form and since. What stands out is how she works: she doesn't start by re-teaching a topic, she starts with the student's last paper, finds the two or three ideas that are actually missing, and fixes those. Students who arrived saying they were "just bad at chemistry" left with a method and a mark they could see moving.
She's calm and patient with nervous students, she knows the current AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications because she sat them recently herself, and she sends a clear note after every session on what to practise next. For anyone applying to medicine, having a final-year medical student who scored in the top 10% on the UCAT and went through the interviews herself is hard to beat. Recommended without hesitation.View more recommendations
