About Tallis
I'm currently pursuing degrees in History and Education at UCLA as an undergraduate student. Recently, I've tutored with the on-campus organization Project Literacy 1-on-1 for an LA high school student in history. In the past, I was a volunteer Reading Mentor and Managing Intern with the San Diego 501 3(c) Nonprofit Traveling Stories: I tutored a 9-year-old in English and raised his Lexile Level by 75 points. I'm excited to keep expanding my tutoring experience and grow myself on the path to becoming a high school history teacher.

Focus on LONG-TERM COMPREHENSION, approach to history is not names/dates/places/events, but BROAD themes in relation to continuity and change over time. Hands-on, question-based learning of historical periods with a focus on argumentative development. Culminates to complex conversations and test-like sections of contextual analysis and further argumentation. Intended for middle to high school students struggling in history. Will be tailored to specific assignments/class needs/student-specific needs.
