About Mikayla

University of California, San Diego Class of 2013! I double-majored in Sociology and Psychology with an emphasis on education. While in college, I tutored high-schoolers for AP English, joined the Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society, and worked an internship creating preschool curriculum.

About the lesson

With 10 years of experience primarily teaching ELAR and history, I am a multidisciplinary educator and instructional designer.

Nearly all of my students have had a learning difference, so I have become very flexible presenting information using kinesthetic-tactile, visual, and auditory activities and techniques.

Trust is important in a teacher-student relationship, so I pay close attention to students' learning styles, preferences, and strengths so that I may deliver the most perfect curriculum. I am easy to be around and not easily frustrated; when presented with the unexpected, I am quick, creative, and resilient. I genuinely enjoy teaching and making learning fun and engaging.
