About Liliana
Hello all future students! As a UCSD alumni who graduated as a biology major, I believe that biology should not be this taunting subject, but one where we could have a lot of wonder and curiosity about all the different processes that go inside of us and all around us! I love the sciences, specifically biology and I hope to inspire you to appreciate the subject for what it is and most importantly to be curious about it!

I practice a blend of student-centered and personalized education. I want my students to feel heard and openly express problem areas in their understanding of the material. A typical lesson would involve tailoring a lesson around a concept that the child is having a difficult time with, ensuring that the child understands the concept and I'd check their understanding by having them teach me the concept. This would build confidence in the child and enable them to have a sense of responsibility and ownership over his/her learning. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am a very patient individual who is highly motivated by seeing a student be excited of taking mastery of a topic that they initially found challenging. I am passionate about biology and will give my best efforts to make my lessons as fun and interactive as possible. These lessons will be for middle-high school students, for science/biology classes and these will be mainly for the discussion of lessons done in the classroom. Additional AP prep work may be considered/incorporated in part of the lessons.
