About Mar
I'm a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), currently pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. My passion for language and expression is matched only by my dedication to helping others achieve their academic goals. My experience as a Student Success Mentor/Coach with City Year, a non-profit organization focused on supporting students in under-resourced schools, has been incredibly rewarding. In this role, I provided crucial support to students, helping them stay on track for high school graduation, fostering their social and emotional development, and contributing to a positive learning environment. This experience has not only allowed me to develop strong leadership and civic engagement skills but, more importantly, it has reinforced my belief in the power of education and mentorship. I am passionate about creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students can thrive. I understand that every student learns differently, and I am committed to tailoring my tutoring approach to meet individual needs and learning styles. Whether it's strengthening writing skills, tackling challenging English concepts, or simply providing a guiding hand, I am here to help you develop into your best self.
