About Syed
My name is Daanish, and I am a dedicated student at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), currently majoring in Information Systems with a minor in Cinematographic Arts. Balancing a rigorous technical degree with a creative minor has taught me the importance of discipline, clear communication, and adaptable thinking—qualities I bring to every tutoring session.
I have always had a passion for breaking down complex ideas into manageable, logical steps. My experience in high-level programming and systems analysis allows me to approach math problems with a level of precision and patience that helps students overcome their "math anxiety."

As an Information Systems major at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), I bring a unique, logic-based approach to mathematics. I don’t believe in just memorizing formulas; I teach my students the "why" behind the math, drawing on my background in programming and systems logic to make complex concepts feel like simple puzzles.
I use a highly interactive, visual approach. We start by identifying the "logic gaps" from previous classes and then bridge them using real-world examples. Whether we are tackling Algebra, Geometry, or Pre-Calculus, I ensure the student can explain the concept back to me before we move on to the next topic.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
The Warm-Up (5-10 mins): Reviewing previous homework or tackling a "brain teaser" to get into the math mindset.
The Core Concept (20-30 mins): Breaking down a new topic using digital whiteboards and step-by-step logic.
Active Practice (15 mins): Solving problems together where I guide the student’s thinking process.
The Wrap-Up: A quick summary of what was learned and a preview of the next session.
