About Taylor
Hello! I'm a world traveler and my passions are exploration and learning languages. Languages are a peek into, not only a certain population's way of communicating, but also their culture and how they live. I have over a decade of experience teaching languages, and am a certified world language teacher in Maryland. I've passed the World Language and Spanish praxis, attended University in France when living abroad taking advanced French courses, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language (minor in French). I love languages and my passion is very apparent in the lessons I teach. I believe we learn languages organically and using authentic materials, so I bring in music, movies, games, whatever interest-based materials the student prefers. You don't have to change the way you live to learn a language. You can do whatever it is you already love - just in Spanish or French!

I know that each student is at a different place and acquires a second language differently. Speaking is usually the toughest, especially for young learners who lack confidence - this is where I shine! I have success with students of all ages using my methods to encourage mistakes in the target language and improve conversation skills starting at level 1! Additionally, I use full immersion and a "charades" type atmosphere in the classroom to keep us in the target language and help understanding. I turn learning languages from a daunting, self-conscious chore to something fun that can make us feel powerful!

Taylor taught me beginner French for several months and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking to learn a new language.
