I am a junior pursuing my bachelor of science in mathematics and a bachelor of arts in integrated science. I work on campus as a writing tutor for my fellow students. In addition, I also work as a mathematics tutor for the local school district.

When learning math, I believe it is useful to understand the fundamentals. Why are we doing this? What is the purpose? Not just how to take a derivative, but why are we taking derivative in the first place? This makes mathematics less arbitrary and more purposeful.
