About Isabella

I am a current Chemistry major, minoring in Anthropology with a sociocultural emphasis at Santa Barbara City College. I am graduating from SBCC this Spring with an AA in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Natural Sciences. I have been accepted into UC Davis but am hoping to transfer to Cornell University. I have fallen in love with Chemistry and just how effective it is at explaining the natural world. The strong conceptual and 3D aspect of molecules tends to intimidate people but I hope to help make Chemistry applicable to you! Looking forward to getting to know you!

About the lesson

1. Introduction or Review
- familiarize the student with me and my qualifications/experience
- precursor questions to see where the student may be and where they may need help
- identification of how the student learns
- Review of what was discussed in previous session
2. Strategy Games (Engage)
- Play some of the games that optimize learning from a list of flashcards I have been using since taking a tutoring course at SBCC
3. Allow for student to question/ explore
- review of what may not understand + time for them to reiterate what they learned in section 2.
4. Practice
