About Emily
My name is Emily and I am an Undergraduate Classics student. I finished my A levels (Classical Civilisation, English Literature, Religious Studies) in 2023 and achieved straight A*s. Since then, I have gone on to study Classics at a Russell Group University, where I have been learning Ancient Greek and Latin.
I am deeply passionate about the Humanities, and this is something that I wish to pass on to any prospective students. Whether you're struggling with your GCSE Poetry Anthology or Ancient Greek Set Texts, I am so happy to help you to unlock your potential.

I aim to produce interactive and engaging lessons for any student, and want to push high-achieving students towards the top grades in their GCSE and A level courses.
For Latin and Ancient Greek, classes will look like an initial grammar session of approximately 15 minutes out of the hour-long session, and then students will be set off to do grammatical exercises, which we will then look through. I also aim to work on key skills (such as translation and parsing) to build up the student's knowledge of their endings and different forms of the words and what their functions are in sentences.
For essay-based subjects, I will mostly be focusing on key exam skills. Content is not something that I am going to prioritise -- it is the student's responsibility to learn this in their own time. We will look at model Grade 9/A* answers and evaluate what they do well, and how their own writing can be elevated to that level. We will look at marking criteria and discuss how to implement this into their own work.
