About Sawandi
My name is Sawandi and I am currently a sophomore studying Biology on the Pre-Med track at Cornell University. My goal during our sessions is to create a comfortable learning environment that will help you tackle any issues you are facing academically! At school, I am involved in an array of clubs such as the American Cancer Society, Cornell Elderly Participation Club, Cornell Healthcare Review, and a couple more startup organizations. I am a tutor for a Biology class here at Cornell and I also tutor when I am back home during the summers. Besides school activities, I enjoy going on hikes, hanging out with friends, watching movies, being spontaneous, and DJing!

As a tutor I devote a great amount of time making sure that my students fully understand the content before intensively putting the skill to use. It is important that we make time to comprehend the material conceptually before applying. A typical lesson plan would include the student providing me with their goals for the session, having a brief overview of what they are struggling with the most, breaking down the content to an understandable level, and making sure the student is on the same page by practicing the skill. As a tutor I am able to personally connect with my students as I have once been in their position. I know what it feels like to feel discouraged about my academics but I have found many ways to alleviate that stress and have even become a person who can transfer my own knowledge to others. My expertise would be most useful for high school students and undergrad students (freshman and sophomore).
