About Rija
Hi, I’m Rija, an undergraduate student who is genuinely passionate about economics and problem solving. I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work, especially when it comes to numbers, patterns, and real-world applications, which is what first drew me to economics and mathematics. Teaching is something I chose to do because I love sharing that understanding with others and helping students realise that subjects they once found difficult can actually become manageable and even enjoyable.
Tutoring allows me to use my academic knowledge in a practical way while developing skills that I know will be valuable in my future career, such as clear communication, organisation, and analytical thinking. Seeing students grow in confidence and achieve their goals is what motivates me most, and I’m excited to support each learner on their academic journey.

My approach to private tutoring is fully tailored to each student, as I believe everyone learns differently and has their own strengths, goals, and areas to improve. I take time to understand what each student finds challenging and create personalised lesson plans that target these areas step by step. This includes making revision timetables, sharing clear notes, and introducing different revision methods so students can find what works best for them. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, easy-to-understand language while also providing challenging questions to build confidence and stretch understanding. Having experience as both a tutor and mentor, I’ve seen how this personalised approach helps students improve and feel more motivated. As an undergraduate, I also bring advanced subject knowledge and a fresh understanding of how to succeed academically, allowing me to support students effectively and relate to their learning journey.
