About Molly
I recently obtained 4 A*'s at A Level ( in 2022, post covid exam disruption) and my personal statement awarded me offers from 4 Russell Group universities as well as an interview at Oxford. Having left full time education relatively recently, I'm in a well placed position to understand how to specifically appeal to A level and GCSE marking criteria.

I can offer help in areas such as:
. General essay writing and literacy skills in the subjects of English and History - this includes essay planning, structuring essays, constructing a sound conclusion, tackling source questions (history), hitting the AO's (english), writing concisely.
. Close Reading Skills - this could be in prep for unseen exams, revision for poetry and drama papers, or for larger coursework pieces. I can also help with the practice of close reading itself, recognising literary devices, etc.
. For students looking to revise specific texts rather than improving their analytical or essay writing skills, I specialise in the A Level texts 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (Williams), the poetry of Christina Rossetti, Thomas Hardy and T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare's 'King Lear' an Webster's 'The Duchess of Malfi'.
. Personal Statement writing.
Lessons usually take place in 1 hr blocks, and are tailored to what the student in question hopes to gain out of our tutoring sessions. I am happy to offer advice regarding work they have been set externally, alternatively set work in lessons, or simply talk through concepts or practices they find challenging.
