About Eloise

My name is Eloise, I am a first year undergraduate Chemical Engineering student at Loughborough University, and my passion is education. Einstein said "imagination is more important than knowledge" which highlights my reasoning for becoming your tutor: I aim to inspire you to think differently and laterally about science and maths problems, so that you can become an ultimate problem solver, and encourage you to stick with those difficult, nagging problems. As someone who was at the bottom of my class in year 9, I fully empathise with a struggling student, but just know, that with time, practice, patience and asking a lot of questions, you yourself can achieve the grades that you want, as this is the path I followed towards my success at GCSE and A-level. Einstein also said "its not that I'm so smart, its just that I stay with problems longer" which shows that anyone can become good at something, you don't have to be considered a genius to get started. Your only limit is you. As a student, I offer a relatable outlook and reliable support, I am at your disposal with questions. When it comes to science and maths, I believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question, so ask away.

My tutoring lessons involve lots of interaction and engagement, so that the student develops their own confidence and initiative in their subject of interest. I am at the student's disposal with session requests and feedback. :) My sessions will be online tutorials which last 50 minutes to an hour, during this time; there will first be a discussion about what the lesson will cover, then we will simply proceed to work through any science/maths problems using interactive, fun and engaging online software. A team effort. I will provide plenty of example questions and worked solutions, but will be more than happy to take a look at any related questions the student has, and offer them advice and supported guidance to the solution. I understand that being a student is already stressful, so there is no need to travel to and from my lessons. Take comfort in joining tutorials from your home, all you need is a device with internet access and a microphone. There is no such thing as a stupid question. As someone who has achieved level 9s in all three science and maths GCSE, and three A* in chemistry, physics and maths A-level, I can say that questions and curiosity are one of the most important aspects to success, so don't be shy! I tutor science and maths at GCSE level, and Chemistry, Physics and Maths A-level, tailored to all specifications.
