About Phoebe
Hi! My name is Phoebe, I'm about to start my third year at the University of Oxford where I am studying for an integrated masters in Biomedical Sciences. My particular areas of interest include cancer biology, stem cell research, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuro-psychology, though really I love all of biology and have done all throughout school- at GCSE I achieved all 9s/8s and at A-Level three A*s (in biology, psychology, and chemistry).
I am experienced working with all ages, leading many study groups for other students during secondary school and college. I have helped tutor family friends whilst at university who were studying for GCSEs and A-levels. I also currently volunteer for a children's charity that works with children known to social services aged 7-12, so would be comfortable tutoring children in the older years of primary school as well.

Lessons aim to last 45 minutes - 1 hour, and beforehand ask students to send a few particular areas of interest to focus on in the lesson so that I can prepare.
We will start talking through the topic, answering any questions they have and helping to fill in any gaps in knowledge. Then running through some questions/problems helps to consolidate this and push their understanding even further. It's all about understanding the underlying key themes in these subjects that can then be used to tackle any problem exams, or real life, might put in front of you.
At the end of the session I would hope that they feel comfortable explaining the topic back to me, as I think this is real proof that they have really learnt something and fully understand it!
