About Ananyaa
Hi! I'm Ananyaa, I'm a second year student at UBC pursuing Psychology and I'm looking to teach art to kids, students and adults. I have pursued the subject my whole life and have completed both IGCSE and higher level IB Art. I have also taken part in a few exhibitions that have displayed my artwork and have also sold a few artworks, providing the money to charity. I also would like to make the art personalized so that it is meaningful to each person. I love interacting with people, and would love to develop a friendship with those I am teaching as it makes the experience a lot more enjoyable.

My methodology would comprise of the kind of art I am teaching; if its life drawing, I will start with the basics of shape and structure and direction of light - after which I would begin to teach the art of shading. The different kinds of shading and how that is applied individual drawings or different areas of one drawing. Similarly, for painting I would begin with color theory, practice that on plan canvases and then depending on the tutee's choice, I would either focus on the technical aspect and have them focus on general artworks or have them create their own through emotion. I would say my passion for the subject is what sets me apart, people have the skill for art but do not generally have the emotion and passion it takes for art to be whole. I want to be able to use my skill to enhance the skills of people and allow them to use art as a form of expression - a form of relaxation as well. I have completed Art as a higher level subject and hence am confident enough to teach people of all ages, and all levels, from beginner to advanced - a general teaching for those either intending on learning or improving their skills.
