About Archie
Hi, I’m Archie and I study Politics German and Spanish at the University of Sheffield. At GCSE English very quickly became one of my favourite subjects, but it wasn’t until I was really pushing for those A*s in the final term or so where I started to actually enjoy the exam side of the subject. Like most people, I found the essay side and the quotes side of the subject quite dull. But what I aim to do is share with you my route to success in the subject which enabled me to not only willingly delve deeper into they subject, but also perform when it really mattered. I have tutored students in my old secondary school and managed to capture their engagement and enthusiasm for English, which in turn saw them achieve top grades in the final exam. In short, I want to transfer an element of passion and efficiency in my lessons which will make you want to sit down and learn the more ‘tedious’ sides of the subject needed for the exams.

As a tutor I not only wish to help you achieve your desired grades, but aim to do so in a way which will mean you won’t be waisting any of your time doing ineffective tasks which do little to advance your ability. I listen to your concerns about the subject and work around your individual circumstances to enable you to succeed, whilst simultaneously enjoying the subject and consequently retaining the much needed skills and technique needed for your exams!
