About Santiago

I’m passionate about bringing my personality into lessons, and ensuring that students take pride in the learning process. The ultimate objective is obviously to get the student the best grade, and I will push my students to give a little extra. However, this shouldn’t come at the expense of no longer enjoying the subject, and I offer a more detailed cultural experience than other tutors.

About the lesson

Typically, a lesson with me will last between 60-90 minutes, and we will cover topics you are weak in after an initial assessment of your level. I split my lessons into phases, starting with an introduction to the topic and a learning period. Afterwards, the student will go through a given task for which I’ll be on hand, and we’ll finish the lesson with a spoken assignment. My lessons are for all of those beginning or undergoing Spanish GCSE’s and A level’s. I have no experience working as a paid tutor, but have extensive experience working as a volunteer translator for English and Spanish students.

I’d never really been held accountable for my mistakes in class before, and Santiago showed me where my strengths and weaknesses were. Over the course of 6 months, he showed me where I was going wrong in my prep, and how to focus better so I could spend less time worrying about my work. As someone with ADHD, working with someone near my age was refreshing and meant we could relate and form a personal connection. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone who values human connection as well as their work.
